Have you ever tried One-A-Day: Weightsmart? If so, what are the benefits?

Also what are the benefits of taking a Vitamin E capsule?

or green tea capsule?

GNC's Ultra Mega Active for Women is the best multi.

Vitamin E has antioxidants.

Green tea is useless.

Thanks guys.

Depends on how much coffee you drink per day.
There is caffeine in green tea extract capsules, but the recommended upper intake of coffee is 4 cups per day.

So if you're only drinking 1-2 cups of coffee per day with the capsules, it should be fine. If you feel like you're getting jittery or your heart is racing, stop drinking the coffee.

I'm taking two a day, and was wondering how will they benefit me? And what are the possible side effects?

Green tea has antioxidants. To sum up, here are just a few medical conditions in which drinking green tea can help prevent:
cancer
rheumatoid arthritis
high cholesterol levels
cariovascular disease
infection
impaired immune function

I don't think there any side effects because my grandma has been drinking tea for over 75 years. Oh and the antioxidants in green tea keeps you looking younger. You age slower.

this could be serious?

04.January, 2009

I've missed my period last month and still havnt had it this month, i have kind of been bulimc the past month could this be the reason why? i was afraid that i could be pregnant as in august i had unprotected (anal) sex bt took the mornin after pill n had periods until last month, i think i may have been a bit stresed as well due to school. i also take 2-3 high dose green tea capsules to help rev up my metabolism, bt i do eat i dnt starve. could stress and the throwin up be the cuase of a missed period?
when i say "kind of bulimic" i mean its not everyday, maybe once a week if that, bt last month was when it started n i was quite bad, i've tried to stop, bt it happens everynow n then when i get a binge.

First of all, don't go bulimic, it's not good for you. :( And you'll pay for it in the near future.

If you've missed your periods, it's usually because you're weak, underweight, or overweight. Some girls cannot control wether or not they are underweight or overweight, so it's not their problem. But in your case, it is. Throwing your food up means more food out and less food in - which is obviously NOT good. This results in less periods, just as underweight girls get less periods. Eat well, and eat more, and you'll be fine! Good luck. :)

Hello.
My girlfriend wants to lose weight fast and really badly. She wants also to get a tummy tuck next year. So she wants to lose as much weight as she can before then.

She is taking green tea capsules, vitamins, probiotics but is only eating 500 calories a day (if that!). How much can she lose doing this? Is this healthy even for a short while?

She just wants to do this until she hits a certain weight, then she is gonna stop and maintain at eating 1200 cals/day. What do you think?

Oh and right now she is 213lbs. 5'1

What she is doing is very dangerous. Not getting the proper calories will lead to dehydration and malnutrition. Her electrolytes (sodium, potassium etc.) will go crazy. The electrolytes deficiencies can lead to death. She needs a proper diet and exercise to lose the weight gradually.

8pm - 15 olives.

9.30pm - black tea with sweetener

I’m 155cm and 50kg, non smoker, healthy…but feeling a bit bigger than normal…i also take one multivitamin, 1200mg evening primrose oil and green tea capsules every day. and have a tea spoon of senna leaves before going to bed to stay regular (i suffer from slow digestion and this is only thing which seems to work for me)

weekends i may have 3 glasses of wine and 4 vodkas in a night (would this make much difference to weight of don’t drink during the week). diet pretty much same on weekends though maybe eating everything couple of hours later…

And please - no people putting links to magical diet pills/eeight loss sites!!!!

wow. that diet is pretty close to malnutirition.

Your body wont have enough calories so it will go into “survive” mode.
What happens is your body will try to store as much food as possible as fat because it thinks there is a food shortage. your body is pretty smart. So instead of attacking the fat, your body will attack the muscle. It has much more nutrients in it then your fat does.

dont second guess what your body needs. Go to the gym and talk to a nutritionist. Thats what they do for a living.

I am pre-diabetic for type 2 and I have been doing some research as well as working with a nutritionist…

I read that green tea has had very beneficial effects on type 2 diabetics as far as blood glucose levels are concerned and keeping them low…But then another article says that caffeine consumption with meals is bad for type 2 diabetics???

Does anyone know anything about this…Should I look for de-caffeinated tea, or is naturally occurring caffeine in tea OK?

Is it better to actually drink the tea, or can you take green tea capsules???

Can anyone shed some light?
I have been working with a midwife/nutritionist on preconception nutrition couseling, to get my BG levels in check, in hope of heading off both Type 2 and gestational diabetes complications, for when I become pregnant!

I have cut refined sugars almost completely out (sweets, most breads and white rice especially)! I do not drink soda anymore at all!!!

And I try to get out and walk when I can but I am a bust stay at home mom, with an on-call husband.

I have read many good nutrition books, Nourishing Traditions and Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by Weston A Price, ETC.

I have already lost 10 lbs. And have had many many other good changes occur..clearer skin, regulation of menstrual cycles etc.

I am simply looking for more things to help keep my numbers under control, as even with all the huge changes I have made they are not as low as I would like, all the time!

I don't think caffeine is a problem. In fact coffee (not decaffeinated) is supposed to help prevent type 2 diabetes.

Whatever the effect of tea, caffeine, or both are, it is very minor. Most important is controlling carbohydrates in your diet, getting some exercise, and just generally taking good care of yourself.

BTW it is not proven that there is -anything- pre-diabetics can do to prevent the onset of diabetes. But I applaud you for trying! Just because it's not proven, it doesn't mean it's not true, plus if you begin eating and exercising like a diabetic, if you ever do develop it, you won't have strong symptoms, and you'll be ready.

I cannot understand why I can't grow fingernails. I am not a nail biter and as soon as they get 1/4 inch they start breaking and peeling. I have tried Sally Hansen products, currently trying that Nutra-nail green tea stuff. I taken gelatin capsules.
What in the world is wrong with me? My mom and sisters all have nice nails. Don't suggest acrylic or fake. I would just like to have nicer nails. Thanks.

Take prenatal vitamins. That will really help grow your nails

I need to get to 206 or lower to get back in or drop 3 inches of my waist my waist is currently 41 inches MEPS taped me at 43 inches which is about 2 weeks ago. My exercise and diet consist of fruit, brown rice and eggs. for breakfast oatmeal are cornflakes. I do exercise I do 50 sit ups at night and 50 again in the morning. I also take green tea capsules which is suppose to burn fat and boost metabolism. I take 4 of those a day. I try to burn at least 500 calories a day 7 days a week. I feel like Im loosing weight but need to know if any of you would know anything more effective?

I thought about doing wind sprints Its suppose to be better than running which I do, to lose those 500 calories on the treadmill. I set it for 5 mph. I think that is a pretty good jog? Anyway some info would be much appreciated my overall calorie intake for a day is about 1200 per day. It use to be 3500 to 4500 a day. I use to be a Trucker but got out of it because I was turning into a real lard @$$!!!

you might want to increase your calorie intake if you stop loosing weight because your body may go into survival mode and story any calories you do recieve
