I have a hard time drinking more than a few cups a day, so I take capsules daily. Am I getting the same benefits as I would if I drank it.

Well, as a general rule, teas are better absorbed by your system than any powder or pill. However, it sounds like you already drink green tea… just not copious amounts. You'll get benefits by supplements, but not as much as drinking steeped green tea leaves.

Question about Green Tea??

19.November, 2008

I´m taking 1X500mg capsule of green tea daily….but would like to take 1000 mg…is it too much??? which are the consequences?? Am I taking the right qty?? or pls let me know how much shoul I take to obtain all of its benefits. thx :)
If you want more of the green tea in your diet, I would almost recommend trying to drink some instead of more tablets. By drinking it, it is better absorbed into your body. And it's a good way to keep your body hydrated as well. I would also read the label on the bottle to see what is recommended for dosage… usually they recommend the dose that is most beneficial for most people but in some circumstances a person would need more. And it never hurts to discuss this with someone at a health food store.

Ive been using Mega Green T capsules which are green tea extract capsules with only a lil bit of natural cafeeine. do you think if i stop takin them daily that i will gain weight back or just stay the same? i just feel like it gives me more energy.

Basically what this Mega Green T does is boost your metabolism to burn off more fat. Once you stop taking them your metabolism might stabalize or it might slow down. You dont want to take this product forever cause thats not good for you. The best thing to do is eat healthy (read nutrition facts dont pay attention to calories or carbs but the saturated fat of the food) exercise, drink plenty of water and get off of your couch and do something.

No mention of it in my text books. Make sure that there is enough fibre in your diet and that you are drinking plenty of water (not soda or caffeinated drinks).

benefits of green tea?

11.November, 2008

I have heard you can buy green tea capsules to help lose weight by raising the metabolic rate. I would prefer to just drink the tea.

What are the health benefits of green tea and do other herbal teas have the same effect. Also is it actually going to work or shallI just stick to my normal (maybe excessive) tea drinking habits

I wanted to let you know that green tea is real tea, not herbal tea. It has not been fermented like black tea, and retains more antioxidants. While it is good for you in many ways, my favorite is that it stabilizes blood sugar. I can barely stand sweets of any kind when I drink it regularly. It is great for your immune system (It keeps my psoriasis cleared up after many years of trying every treatment available with no results). It prevents cavities, fights cancer, and will give you an edge in losing weight, although it won't cause the pounds to fall off by itself. I've never tried the capsules because I love drinking the tea. Don't buy the decaffeinated kind, though, unless you must. It tastes awful to me. One more thing–brew your own. I doubt that the stuff in bottles will benefit you much, and probably has too much sugar.

Is it oki to take multivitamin and green tea capsule together???

Yes that should be fine as green tea capsule is not a vitimin substute and so they can be used together. You dont want to be taking to vitamin tablets at the same time as that may result in you have to much. I take daily multivit with minerals and calcuim and I am also suppost to take iron but find my levels stay ok. I am suppost to do this for the rest of my life. Its been almost a year now and everything has been fine.

Antioxidant Food Supplements

06.November, 2008

Antioxidant supplements play a protective role for our general health including the health of our hair. Antioxidants supplements are supposed to slow down the oxidation reactions which are brought about by the free radicals. The Free radicals are highly reactive unstable atoms generated in our body that can damage cells leading to a number of diseases and ageing.According to the Free-radical theory of aging, these highly reactive oxygen species (ROS), damage the DNA, proteins and other cellular structures like the cell membranes and cell organelles.

The reaction of free radicals within cells, and subsequent damage has been linked to a range of disorders and chronic diseases including cancer, arthritis, atherosclerosis, alzheimer’s and diabetes and inflammatory conditions

Antioxidants are able to slow down or block these dangerous reactions in the body. They do it either by reacting with intermediates and halting the oxidation reaction directly. They react with the free radicals and prevent the oxidation reaction from occurring.

Antioxidants supplements can be taken as dietary supplements or taken as tablets and capsules. Studies suggest those dietary antioxidants supplements provide a range of are benefits for our health. However, excess antioxidant supplementation may be counter-productive.

Thanks for all the info guys. Joya mentioned exercise….I walk or run my shepherd on the bike 5-10 miles every day (sometimes more). I only eat soy & salads. I have lost about 30 lbs, but still need to loose 20-30 more. I have been at a standstill for 6 wks, struggling just to keep off what I've lost, even tho I'm exercising even more now. Is there anything that will "assist" in the weight loss? Does green tea capsules work? (I drink LOTS of regular & green tea already).

Try Lida diadiahua you can find it at www.theaaadiet.com it's chinese herbs that really work
