I usually hate green tea (and I've tried adding lemon to it), my dad bought this on sale, but I'd never be willing to pay the full price for it. It tastes like a light, green tea lemonade.

I've tried making lemonade with green tea water, but it comes out tasting too sweet.

I've also tried adding lemon to green tea, but it tastes… too organic.

I can't find the right balance.

Well, Big K is a generic company, selling to mostly convenience stores and grocery stores, so its liekly mostly artifically flavored… your best bet is trying to find an artifical lemon and green tea flavorings. I see a few green teas online that look very artificial, but nothing specifically like Big K's. I wouls say try a artificial green ice tea, and add a little lemon. There are many generic sugar-free tea mixes and i have seen a rise in green showing up on some of their labels.

Why Diet Foods Are A Joke

25.October, 2008

Let me tell you something REALLY funny…

Really, though, this is a real knee-slapper…

It’s about that person who goes out to eat and orders a:

-big, juicy cheeseburger

-french fries

-a side order of mozzarella sticks

-with a nice piece of cheesecake for dessert

All washed down with their favorite Hollywood diet drink.

Wait a minute….

I’m not done laughing.

Hold on.

Just a little longer.

Ok, ok, I’m fine now.

I will never understand why people think or feel that ordering a diet drink with their massive amount of fatty, unhealthy food will get them anywhere.

The sad thing is, is that they are REALLY convincing themselves that they are doing something good for their body, so they will inevitably do it over and over and over again.

You’re not one of those people, are you?

Good, I didn’t think so.

Just in case you are and you’re not telling me (shame on you, lol)…let’s work on fixing this problem immediately.

Unfortunately, this is what the multi, multi, multi-million dollar business of “diet foods” is doing to you.

They are tricking you into thinking that you are doing something “healthy” for yourself……

When in reality you are doing nothing, or even worse, you are making yourself infinitely unhealthier.

Onward.

I can literally go on and on and on about this seemingly forever, but let me give you a quick example.

Let’s say you like a certain carbonated beverage.

Ok, so you decide to buy the “diet” version of this beverage.

Maybe because it has 1 calorie.

Or maybe because it has artificial sweeteners instead of sugar (hint hint: it still isn’t good for you).

Whatever.

The point is that, “diet” or not, this beverage has many, many ingredients that you need to stay far away from.

Because if you can look me in the eye and tell me that aspartame (the key ingredient in diet drinks instead of sugar), is going to help you get lean……………

Then I have some oceanfront property in Arkansas that I’d love to sell you.

And it’s on sale this week……..just for you.

And whether you believe all of the medical studies about aspartame (and its buddies) or not…….I can guarantee you one thing…

It sure as heck will never help you lose weight or get in shape.

But it very well give you a false sense of security into drinking all of these diet drinks day in, day out, month in, month out, year in, year out….

You get the point.

And when somebody comes along and definitively proves that aspartame is horrifically bad for you……….

Uhhh-Oh.

Somebody’s in trouble.

And it ain’t me.

But hey, you’re a smart person….you would never drink those carbonated drinks anyway.

Right?

Right?

Good, I didn’t think so.

But, just in case, you know of a “friend” who practices this unhealthy behavior…just tell them I said that downing these so-called “diet” drinks will lead them to everywhere except where they want to be in life.

More specifically, to their local doctors, specialists, and hospitals.

You can also give them this special tip…….

If they are so hard up for some extra sugar in their life,

Just make themselves a cup of green tea, and add a spoonful or two of sugar in it.

Hands down, this beats any diet drink recipe 10 times out of 10.

How many more health tips do I have up my sleeve?

I’m going to say thousands to be on the safe side, but I bet you I have more inside of me.

To find out what I have to offer, visit www.fitnesswithchris.com and enjoy the fruits of my hard work for you.

And that is no joke.

I’ll talk to you soon.

Chris C.

i hurd geen tea diet helps with loosing weight but how do i drink it..cold/hot or with syrip. and how many times a day? before meals, on emty stomic, or at any time or after meals. please helppppp…

You can drink green tea hot or cold I guess. I usually drink it in the morning. Don't add any sugar to it, for best results. If you want it to be a tad sweet, you can add honey if you must. You can drink it during mealtimes or before, whenever you want. Just don't drink it before bedtime because it has caffeine. Try a cup a day when you first start.

We’ve all been told (or told someone else) that finishing all your veggies or eating fresh fruit every day is a good way to keep your body healthy and fit. But there are some other surprising foods (drinks too) that we can add to our diet that bring impressive health benefits, and (in moderation, of course) might just help us reach our weight loss goals.

Here are the five, good for your surprises:

1. Tea – 3 cups per day of any type that comes from the leaves of the plant Carnellia sinensis, which includes black, green, white and oolong varieties. There is strong evidence that tea might just reduce your risk of heart disease, and offer other less researched benefits such as protection from cancer and cutting your risk of Alzheimer’s disease. Tea appears to have a type of flavonoid from that same family of antioxidants found in fruits, veggies and red wine. To get the most out of your cup of tea, make it strong and steep it a good long time-but if you’re watching your weight, keep an eye on the milk and sugar you add to your cup.

2. Dark Chocolate – a little goes a long way, but just like tea, this delicious treat is believed to have an ample supply of the same flavonoids in red wine, fruits and veggies. Small amounts of dark chocolate have been shown to improve blood vessel flow, and may stabilize blood sugar and insulin sensitivity, thus reducing the risk of diabetes. Choose dark chocolate that contains at least 70% cocoa so you get more of these healthy antioxidants, and fewer calories from the milk and sugars used to make milk or white chocolate.

3. Fatty Fish – two servings per week of fish such as salmon, trout, herring, tuna, sardines or mackerel. These fish are rich in omega – 3 fatty acids, shown to reduce cholesterol, which helps to keep clots from forming and causing heat attacks. The research is so compelling that the American Heart Association recommends eating fatty fish on a regular basis. Be sure you choose grilled or broiled recipes as frying removes many of the beneficial substances in the fish and replaces them with calories and saturated fats.

4. Coffee – despite its bad rap, used in moderation, your first cup of morning coffee may have health benefits you haven’t heard about – including stimulating the brain and nervous system as well as lowering your risk of diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, mood disorders and headaches. Coffee has a compound from the antioxidant family and is a good source of magnesium, both are believed to help improve sugar metabolism, help with insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance. And while black coffee is a tasty zero calorie drink, adding cream, sugar, or other toppings adds calories that you might not want.

5. Avocados – even though these fruits are full of fat, most of it is the heart healthy monounsaturated kind that is believed to lower cholesterol. Avocados have carotenoids, vitamin E and potassium, plus fiber to fill you up. Be aware though, that just because the fats are “good” ones, they still add calories if you aren’t careful about portions. Slice them onto salads, add them to a soup or spread them on bread to keep the potion sizes under control while still getting all the taste and health benefits too.

Adding one or more of these surprisingly healthy options is a great way to improve a diet that could use some help, or boost the healthfulness of one that’s already on the right track. Along with regular exercise, eating a balanced and nutritious diet is still one of the best ways to maintain your weight and your health.

Much has been written and said about diets and detox, but here we are going to present a simple 24 detox diet to cleanse your system, make you feel better and revitalise you with energy, its simple and very effective.

This 24 hour detox diet can be used after a period of over-indulgence, or when you awake feeling poorly and will revitalize you quickly.

This detox diet should not to be used everyday.

24 Hour Detox Diet Basics

The basis for this detox diet is 4 glasses of ‘fresh’ pomegranate juice, slow-cooked brown rice, a high-power vegetable salad, and 200 grams of raw almonds.

The combination will give you all the vitamins and minerals you need for your day, clear your body of toxins and oxidants, and give you plenty of energy to face the world. You will also lose a minimum of 600 grams to 1 kilo depending on your height and body weight.

Detoxing to cleanse your body

The pomegranate is a very powerful (the most powerful) anti-oxidant we know of in any food.

It has been shown to reverse and even prevent some cancers and heart disease.

The almonds will supply all the calories, oils, and proteins you need, without feeling hungry.

The salads are for bulk and all the vitamins and minerals that are gained from the eating of salads and vegetables.

The brown rice is also a wonderful antioxidant, and source of many vitamins and minerals that can be readily absorbed by the body.

The rules of this detox diet are simple:

1. No coffee or tea, or any soft drink. The ONLY liquids that are allowed are the 4 glasses of pomegranate juice and much water as you can drink.

2. If you are a smoker, try to stop for the 24 hours, or if you cannot, limit the cigarettes to as few as possible, and try not to inhale, but smoke the cigarette as you would a cigar.

3. Take a hot shower or bath both in the morning and in the evening, scrubbing the skin with a brush, loofa, or special skin cloth that will stimulate good blood circulation. Also going to a sauna is a wonderful idea. Spend as much time there as possible, taking your food with you.

4. Do not cheat; follow the diet plan. Eat ONLY when you are hungry, not by the clock.

5. Exercise by any means (walking may be the best) for at least 45 minutes during the day. This is very important.

Detox diet Morning Meal

One glass of pomegranate juice, with a handful of the raw almonds. Do not overfill your stomach; when you are about 50% satisfied, stop.

Detox diet Mid-morning Snack

One bowl of the brown rice, with some natural soya sauce, and some tofu if you feel you need protein. One glass of water.

Detox diet Lunch

One glass of pomegranate juice and a mixed green salad, as much as you wish. A dressing of virgin olive oil, wine vinegar, and salt may be used.

Detox diet Mid-Day Snack

One glass of pomegranate juice, with a handful of the raw almonds. Do not overfill your stomach; when you are about 50% satisfied, stop.

Detox diet Diner

The last glass of pomegranate juice and a large bowl of brown rice.

No more food should be consumed with this detox diet.

You will have taken over 1200 calories, and a host of wholesome and healthful nutrients with this detox diet if followed exactly.

Moreover, you body will have had 24 hours to rid itself of the toxins absorbed by over-indulgence, or simply daily city life (stress, pollution and processed food products).

During the day When using this detox diet feel fantastic and alert.

We advise to not follow this detox diet more than one day weekly, as it is not effective as a general everyday diet. It is however highly effective as a quick pick me up and cleansing diet.

Do you have to drink a special “diet tea” when drinking green tea to loose weight? Can regular grocery store green tea do the job? How much do you need to drink?

Regular green tea has some health benefits, such as fighting free radicals, but it is not some miracle fat burner. You will need to try other products that have supplements in them to curb appetite and burn fat if your goal is to lose weight
http://www.betterbodyjournal.com/weight-loss-and-fitness-products/ultra-lean-green-tea-for-losing-weight

Regular green tea is healthy and great for you, so you might not need a weight loss supplement. If you replaced a bad meal (junk food) with green tea, then you would eventually lose weight.

Tea has gained a lot of attention in recent years for its ability to decrease the risk of heart disease. Green tea, in particular has been shown to prevent heart disease in the following ways.

• Green tea has been shown to prevent circulating LDL from hardening into the plaque that sticks to arterial walls, narrowing them.

• Green tea has been shown to inhibit unnecessary blood clotting.

• Green tea has been shown to reverse endothelial dysfunction. Endothelial dysfunction makes it difficult for the veins and arteries to properly dilate.

• Green tea has an anti-inflammatory effect, which may help protect arteries and blood vessels.

Tea’s magic is due to its high level of anti-oxidants. Anti-oxidants are critical to preventing disease because they fight the free radicals that our bodies create each day during our digestive process. If the free radicals are not neutralized, they damage our cells and DNA, leading to disease. Other good sources of anti-oxidants include fruits and vegetables, red wine and chocolate.

But, tea’s anti-oxidants may be the most powerful of all. Most doctors recommend, and most of the research has been performed on, green tea. This is because green tea is unfermented. Black tea goes through a fermentation process that changes some of the natural anti-oxidants into other, less healthy form.

However, some concern has been raised that drinking tea may increase blood pressure. Keeping blood pressure under control is critical to preventing heart disease.

Blood is carried from the heart to all parts of your body in vessels called arteries. Blood pressure is the force of the blood pushing against the walls of the arteries. Each time the heart beats (about 60-70 times a minute at rest), it pumps out blood into the arteries. Your blood pressure is at its highest when the heart beats, pumping the blood. This is called systolic pressure.

When the heart is at rest, between beats, your blood pressure falls. This is the diastolic pressure. When you see a blood pressure reading it shows the systolic pressure number over the diastolic pressure number.

When the level stays high, 140/90 mmHg or higher, you have high blood pressure. With high blood pressure, the heart works harder, your arteries take a beating, and your chances of a stroke, heart attack, and kidney problems are greater. You should aim for a blood pressure reading of around 120/80.

So, while tea may offer many benefits in lowering the risk for heart disease, if it raises the blood pressure, these benefits may be negated in those who are already battling high blood pressure.

One study, reported by the UK Tea Council, examined the effects of black tea on endothelial dysfunction and on blood pressure. The effects of tea drinking were measured both while fasting and after a meal. There were 20 participants, each with coronary artery disease. Dilation of the endothelium and blood pressure levels were measured at the beginning of the test, and 3 ½ hours after drinking three cups of black tea or hot water.

In some cases, the participants were given black tea or hot water without a meal, and in other cases, the tea and water were administered along with a meal.

The study concluded that when combined with a meal, the black tea significantly improved endothelial dilation. However, when tea was administered during fasting, it did not improve endothelial dilation.

The study also found that tea, when administered without a meal, raised systolic blood pressure compared with the participants who drank water alone. However, tea, when administered with a meal did not show any increase in blood pressure. So, it was concluded that drinking black tea on an empty stomach may temporarily raise blood pressure. However, eating a meal with your tea seems to negate these effects.

This can be important news for those struggling with high blood pressure. While the raised blood pressure that was noted from drinking black tea alone appeared to be temporary, it still may be of concern for those who are already battling blood pressure problems. It may be wise to avoid black tea on an empty stomach.

However, if you drink your tea with a meal, you may be able to reap all the benefits that tea offers without increasing your blood pressure. So, don’t stop drinking your tea; just alter your tea drinking schedule to coincide with food.

It’s important to note that this study was conducted only on black tea, so we’re unsure if green tea has the same effects on blood pressure. And, green tea is the one most often recommended for its overall health benefits.

As with any alternative therapies you use, it’s wise to keep your doctor informed. Working with your doctors to find the right combination of diet, exercise and medication is the best way to protect your health and ensure that you live a long, heart attack free life.
