I've been drinking this stuff like crazy, on top of water and exercise. I was recently looking at the label, 6 servings per bottle (it's the bigger one) and 21g of surgar per serving. Today I drank 3 bottles, now that I put the math together thats a whole lot of sugar. So how healthy is Lipton and other green tea products you can find in the drink isle? Thanks for any info :)
Drinking green tea is one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself. But, you're drinking a pre-prepared green tea drink… that's full of sugar.

Sugar's a killer. Try to stay away from it as much a possible.

Bring water to a boil, ( I use the microwave). Put your green tea teabag in a 6 to 8 oz. cup. Let the water cool until no longer bubbling. Pour water over teabag, and let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes, according to how strong you like it. NEVER pour boiling water on green tea, as it is much more delicate than pekoe. Remove teabag before serving.

if you mean teabags, then yes, all green tea, and all true tea for that matter (black, white, green, ooolong teas) have antioxidants in them. I highly recommend tea as a healthy beverage.

If you are comparing the bottled green teas to brewed teas, I would have to say that bottled teas probably have less antioxidants, but this is just a guess. I think that the longer it sits on the shelf, the more likely the antioxidants will degrade or lessen. That's just my opinion. I think I also heard it on the news or something….

Yes,unless indicated otherwise on the bottle. Green Tea contains caffine

When they speak of the health benefits of Green Tea they are talking about loose leaf brewed green tea. Benefits come from the antioxidant content which are responsible for preventing cell damage which ultimately results in less wrinkles, increased health and better overall appearance/health.

The green tea they sell in stores is just another sugary drink with a hint of antioxidants from green tea and is really just a joke and marketing tactic.

If you want the true benefits brew your own or at the very least (and I cringe to recommend this) buy the green tea bags.

I read an article on why green tea is good for you so im going to start drinking it. we already have a lot of it but the only kinds we have are Lipton and Bigalow. I heard that lipton is bad because of the sugar but then I heard that the amount of sugar only matters if you are drinking it to lose weight, and Im not. so is it still as good for me as the other brands? and out of the 2 kinds I have, which is better for you? thanks for any answers

Are you talking about instant tea with the sugar already in it? I recommend you get green tea bags and that way you can control the amount of sweetener in your tea.

I have tried the product locator and it is not even listed on there. It is the lipton iced green tea with apple flavor. the only one I have been able to find in the area is the one with the citrus…that one is kinda icky.

I live in Milwaukee too :) Uhhmm if you’re a little more specific about the product you’re looking for,I could try to find it, but I don’t know for sure what it is you’re looking for. If you go to Lipton you can “find a lipton tea” and either buy it in the eStore or try to find it in a store near Milwaukee. I attached the link for you under the source. Hope I helped? :)

No, nothing is like drinking water. Lipton teas are loaded with junk. There is no substitute.
