I drink tazo green tea & lipton black tea, but am concerned about the levels of fluoride and aluminum. I drink spring water to try and balance it out, but am consuming more and more tea every year, so am looking for the teas with marginal toxins…thanks

Bigelow Orange and Spice tea seems pretty safe

i have about 10 different kinds, and my faves are

pomegranite green tea - republic of tea
vanilla roobis tea - celestial seasonings
zen tazo green tea - Tazo

I have too many different kinds to count.

My fave is Stash Vanilla Nut Creme Decaf Tea. It is so good with a little splash of fat free half and half. Yum!

I also like the Kalahari Red teas (they are rooibos teas and are suposed to be better for you than green tea - lots of antioxidants).

Bigelow Sweet Dreams herbal tea is great if you're having trouble sleeping, or if you just need help relaxing.

I love pretty much any kind of Chamomile tea, but Celestial Seasonings Honey Vanilla Chamomile is really, really good.

I like Chai teas too. Good Earth Vanilla Chai is a good one (they also have a decaf version).

Of course, a good old fashioned cup of black tea with a splash of fat free half and half is good too. I really don't care for any of the fruit flavored teas.

Green Tea….. ?

17.November, 2008

I'm 14 and weigh 127 pounds as of 12:30 PM today (it's currently 4:00 PM 10-6-07, I haven't eaten since 10:20, earlier today). I'm 5'5.5", and I have a BMI of 21.1. I heard green tea boosts your metabolism, or the rate in which one burns calories. I'm wondering, if I start drinking 10-12 oz. of brewed Tazo(TM) green tea, every other morning in place of breakfast, and having smaller, healthier lunchs and dinners (meaning: super-lean white meat, dark greens in place of lighter ones, steamed or raw veggies, fresh fruit, and smaller portions, sans dessert) could I lose the 13lbs I want to and make my metabolism higher? I like my shape as is, but I would love it if I could be a smidge skinnier, because of my build. Please, don't tell me to get over it and love my body. Thanks so much!

♥ali♥, xoxo
Low side of normal as in risk of being overweight, or risk of being underweight?

Wow. I must say you are very well written for a 14 year old.
That being said, your plan sounds like a good one.

I didn't double check your numbers, but keep in mind that 21% is starting to lean towards the low side of norma BMl. Keep on a healthy track and you'll do well. I admire your drive to suceed.

My Starbucks only carries the lemon tea and green tea now… no more tazoberry or brambleberry. Whats going on and were can I get my tea?

You are lucky, the Starbucks I work at only carries the Green tea.
It just depends on what Starbucks you are at and how high the demand is for those teas. If you live in a big city, you are sure to find one Starbucks that would carry them.
Also, try Target. I know mine carries bottled Tazo, but I haven't really looked at which flavors they have.
good luck!

Which Tazo tea is good?

11.November, 2008

Hi everyone, recently I've been paying to Tazo tea after trying the Iced Green Tea at Starbucks…I'm just wondering for all the Tazo tea bags, can any recommend the good ones to me? I personally like green tea and I'm just wondering if any of the Tazo teabags have sweet flavor / or taste sweet?

Thanks a lot!

p.s. I tried the Passion tea today but found it a bit too sour….

try the blueberry white tea! its really good. or wild sweet orange… i think you wolud like those…

Im a teen 15 and have been drinking tea since i was young but now i drink it alot more often i try so stick to 2 or 3 cups a day and i am kinda on to coffee now but i do drink herbal teas so they have less caffine i mostly drink lipton tea but i also drink
tazo green tea
tazo chai
mint tea–not to often
oolong tea (also known as woolong)
i want to know how this will affect me in the long run because i know its pretty bad now. maybe you could suggest some more natural teas.

I am pretty close to your age( I'm 14) and I drink both tea and coffee.
If it is a caffeinated tea, such as tea from the actual tea plant(Camellia siensis) then you should try to cut back, like only 1 or 2 cups a day.

However, for a more natural option, you might want to try brewing your own herbal tea. Maybe you could plant an herb garden and use the herbs in your tea. Herbal teas are naturally caffeine-free, so there is less guilt here. You could use mint, lavender, basil, dandelion, ginger root…the list goes on and on. Plus, you won't spend as much money as opposed to buying the Lipton or the Tazo that you mentioned.

Bottom line: A little tea is actually good for you, but don't go overboard or it can have bad effects.

I LOVE green tea, I drink Arizona Diet green tea, starbucks tazo green tea, sometimes the lipton diet green tea. Basically everyday I have it, cause it tastes good a good antioxidant and for the metabolism. I love it, but is it okay to drink when you are TTC or pregnant? Do I have to give it up or can I drink it once a day?

You got me thinking because I am a teadrinker too but haven't had much since getting pregnant but i do love greentea so I looked it up online and the first site i came to was interesting http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/nutrition/foodsafety/greenteaexpert/
