Could my recent and regular consumption of green tea be helping my chronic insomnia?

I've had trouble sleeping for YEARS. I can count on my fingers the number of times I've been able to fall asleep quickly and stay asleep all night. I'm also a morning person, though, and have been able to get up and move quickly regardless, which I attribute to being a single mom of two now and having no other choice. About a week ago, I began drinking decaf green tea, approximately four cups a day. For the past three nights, not only have I slept like a rock, but I have a hard time waking up, and I also feel sleepy enough to take a nap during the day. I've heard that green tea has health benefits, but don't recall hearing or reading anything about it being good for sleep.
you might want to have your Progesterone levels checked too. If it is higher than your Estrogen level, this causes insomnia big time. I had insomnia for 25 years until I finally had my hormone levels checked and learned I was Estrogen Dominant. Began using bioidentical (same as is in our bodies) Progesterone cream, and have slept like a baby ever since.
I think I read some time back that green tea has some sort of effect on Progesterone levels, in fact. I can't remember what it was exactly, but I remember that it was good.
