Going off caffeine suddenly will mess with you. I tried quitting coffee once and a month later I was still not functioning properly. Real short attention span (I've always had that anyway, but it was worse) and no energy at all. Finally, I said "Hey I'm having my coffee" and started again. I think the problem was that I quit cold turkey. I think I could taper off of it and get it done, but I really haven't pursued it. I'm not all that interested, cause I really like coffee.
But if you're trying to break a dependence on the caffeine (and that sounds like what your problem is), then maybe a little bit of coffee or tea (I don't recommend Coke or Mt. Dew cause of all the HFCS) will help. Not a lot, just enough to take the edge off. And then just taper it off from there.

Sounds like the product you were taking may of been a load of BS and just loaded full of caffeine and given a 'Green tea' spin …
And yes. Taking high amounts of caffeine for prolonged periods of time, and then suddenly stopping, can result in some adverse events (not everyone, but some)
