So here's the deal. I've lost some weight, and still trying to loose a few. I go back to school August 14th, and we ALL know that school food really can't be all that good for you!
I really don't want to get fat, or gain everything back!
And i don't want to pack my own lunch everyday, because that will get soo expensive, and really inconvienent.

I'm going to eat breakfast at home, but what is a good breakfast that will keep me full until lunch time. And even then will keep me from pigging out at lunch!
What are some healthier school lunch choices? Like healthy things I can eat there. And what are good snacks I can bring in my backpack to munch on if I get hungry?

And are the diet teas like lipton diet green tea, diet snapple peach tea good for me? I buy the cases from sam's club and plan on bringing them with me to school.

[ highschool lunch by the way, so there's a lot to choose from! ]

thanks guys!
:D oh by the way, i'm going to be on cross country.

and the days i don't practice with cross country, i will be going to the gym after school (3:30)
so there's my exercise by the way [:
in case you were wondering

I am going into 9th grade and am doing cross country too and I totally understand how hard it can be to stay full and still eat healthy.

For breakfast:
Try Nestle's Carnation Instant Breakfast Chocolate Milk Mix. Its packed with protein and vitamins so it keeps you full and still tastes normal. Also have a granola bar. I especially like General Mill's Fiber One bars which taste really good and are only 150 calories with 9 grams of protein. This breakfast keeps me full and concentrated until lunch.

If you do need a snack anytime during the day, bring a small container of Ritz crackers ,strawberries and pineapple, or Goldfish.

For lunch:
I have a turkey sandwich with lettuce and cheese, a water, and one of those 100 Calorie Packs snacks. The 100 Calorie Pack snacks are great because they come in so many different popular varieties and most of them taste exactly like the real things.

Also, if you practice cross country in the afternoons (like I do), stash another one of the 100 Calorie Packs in your sports bag to quickly gulp down before practice to keep you going.

Drinking lots of water during the day helps to kepp you full and focused as well as it prepares your body to stay hydrated during your cross country workout too!

Hope this helps!

Granola bars are your bast choice by far. Shop around to find ones you like that are high in whole grains and low in calories/sugar. And packing a lunch in the long run will actually save you money and peace of mind by sticking to your diet.

As for the teas I would just watch out for the sugar and calorie levels. Try drinking more water or using the flavor packets in for a bottle like crystal light.

Its also ok to eat something naughty at school once a while if you are eating right outside from school so you can stress a little less. Good for you for trying to make a good choice and sticking with it!

I'm almost just like you. I'm going back aug.13, i've lost about 13 lbs. over this summer. And to keep myself from pigging out at school i'm going to either take my lunch everyday or bring snacks. Some really good snacks would be celery or carrots with fat free ranch, if you like that, or one of those 100 calorie packs. Any of the fruits and vegetables at you school are good for you. I would pick from a lot of them. I've also been drinking green tea once a day, and it helps too! Because i still eat mostly what ever i want besides really fatty stuff and i've lost about 13 lbs. like i said. And remember this too, it's not all what you eat but exercise too. And cross country is some really good exercise. But you can't do that everyday can you? I've never done it so i wouldn't know lol. But you need to find out someway to exercise everyday. Even if it's just walking outside for 30 min or so.

Put about 1 ounce of almonds in little snack bags and keep them on you along with lite string cheese, baby carrots and fruit…Cause you will be playing a sport….keep in mind healthy eating and remind yourself how hard you had to work in the summer to get into shape and remember you will be doing your body a favor in the long run as it is not good to keep losing, gaining and losing weight as it is pretty taxing on your body…
    Best!
